Just saying hi (moved in today). Is this a good place to say hi? LogicMuseum 08:23, May 27, 2011 (EDT)

Sure - hi! Yaron Koren 19:27, May 29, 2011 (EDT)

Hi. I have installed SMW successfully on my site, and I am pretty pleased with it, although I haven't explored too much of the functionality. I also installed CKEditor successfully, and that is working pretty well too, although it has quirks. The Logic Museum makes heavy use of parallel Latin-English translations, for which a table editor is essential - the base functionality is terrible for tables, as you are probably aware.

I have just one problem. A vision of the LM is to link all the medieval texts together. The texts make frequent reference to Aristotle and Augustine, so I have successfully anchored the core texts, and am now creating links to them. The problem is that the links don't always take you to the anchor. They drop you off at the top of the page leaving you to scroll down. Oddly, it works if the link is off-wiki. For example, if I click the link that is now on my user page, it works. But it doesn't work if I link from the Logic Museum. E.g. if I click the links on my home page [1] it doesn't work. Even stranger, it works from my PC at my office. It's only the home PC that doesn't work. Could it be browser specific? Any thoughts or help very welcome. No idea. Yaron Koren 00:50, June 14, 2011 (EDT)

Vandals etc

There must be times when you get close to prohibiting IP edits here!! Wouldn't have stopped Heecf (spg?) but would have deterred the latest.

Blocking indefinitely - might clog up your system eventually?

I help with a board-game-related wiki that gets lots of spam, most of which is just ignored, though I guess the host will one day say the storage is costing him too much. If there's an easy way for an ordinary admin to do the mass deletions (and presumably rollback where possible) you've been doing, could you point me to where I can read about it?

Kind regards. Robin Patterson 10:32, April 3, 2012 (EDT)

Yeah, maybe banning anonymous IPs is the way to go. For now, I'm using the indispensable Nuke extension a lot. Ideally, it, or a similar extension, could handle rollbacks as well - that would make things easier (as you note, where possible). Yaron Koren 12:33, April 3, 2012 (EDT)

Spam filter

I tried to update the page adding the site's new URL ( and got a message that the new URL has been blacklisted. WHY? -- 10:37, April 8, 2012 (EDT)

Hi - this wiki has been hit with a lot of spam and vandalism, so I've put in place various anti-spam blocks, some of which may be overly-aggressive. Try creating an account and logging in - you may have better luck. Yaron Koren 21:32, April 8, 2012 (EDT)
Hi. is a bona fide semantic wiki, continiously watched and developed. I am one of its stewards (Участник:Alex_Mashin).
Alex Mashin 08:47, April 9, 2012 (EDT)
Yes, I know. So, does that mean you still aren't able to add it? Yaron Koren 09:01, April 9, 2012 (EDT)
No, I'm not. May I see the regular expression that blocks it?
Alex Mashin 09:11, April 9, 2012 (EDT)
Oh, weird - Referata is using this spam blacklist, and indeed - is right on there. It looks like it was just added to the list a few days ago. Yaron Koren 10:24, April 9, 2012 (EDT)
I see. I proposed removal of from the blacklist, but I cannot be sure when (and whether) the proposal be fulfilled. Could be whitelisted on this wiki? -- Alex Mashin 11:20, April 9, 2012 (EDT)

Okay, this is done. Hopefully it works now! Yaron Koren 11:48, April 9, 2012 (EDT)

Thank you very much.
